I often got the open tray/unplayabe disc message for some of my 360 games. I have the hitachi 47dj drive. I tried the "glueing the 1mm piece of plastic to push the switch trick" but that didn't work so i tweaked the drive using the volt meter and it worked. Man, i'm so happy my coasters are of proper use now. Just incase someone else is having the same problem.
