MP3 Ringtones on V3t, no software necessary...

I did this last night after I couldn't get moto phone tools to recognize my V3t.

Remove your SDcard and put it in your computer. Simply drag-n-drop the desired .mp3 file into your "my_music" folder on the SDcard.

You can edit the .mp3 using the tutorial on this site to either shrink the size or simply use a part of a song/audio clip.

Place the SDcard back in your phone. On your phone, navigate to "Fun and Apps", then click on "Sounds".

Your phone should show any .mp3 files you have on your sdcard. If not, click the "Menu" button, then select "Switch Storage Device" and make sure your memory card is selected.

Now, highlight the desired .mp3 file, and click the "Menu" button. Scroll down the list of options and select "Copy". When prompted, click "Copy to phone".

Once the file has been copied, just go to change your ringtone and it will be at the end of the list to select from.

Hopefully this wasn't a fluke accident for me. If it was, then it may be due to the fact that I used the SDcard from my K1m without any reformatting. That's the only way it could be a fluke.

I don't know if this method will work for other RAZR phones or not, as the V3t is the first one I've had, minus the KRZR (which is a little different.

Good luck, and hopefully this will make things easier for all RAZR owners.
