i have heard of a couple of ways to back up xbox 360 games, like using wx ripper or hooking up the 360 drive to a computer. i was wondering what method is the best. i just ordered a sata card so i will be modding my 360 next week and it would be nice to know the easiest way to back up my games. so if anyone could tell me what method they think is the best and point me towards a tut that would be helpfull. thanks

1:flash your xbox dvd drive or install a mod chip

2:disassemble a dvd drive to remove xbox games without ejecting, plug your xbox dvd drive into your computer, or rip with a samsung sh-d162c computer drive.

3: burn onto a dual layer verbatium disk

and your off playing a backup, search around there's more information loaded into this forum than anyone needs to know,

personally i think the easiest way is using the sh-d162c drive and xbox backup creater to extract the iso, then you just burn it. Download this tutorial, probably the best out there. http://www.360mods.net/Downloads/details/id=61.html

I noticed that xbox backup creator only supports DVD+R DL discs but if you use a DVD-R DL disc will this work using clonecd. I'm asking because I just extracted a disc and burnt it using clonecd but the xbox360 said it was dirty and needed wiping with a cloth. I have flashed my firmware with xtreme 5.2d ok but it's the xbox backup creator where I'm having issues. I recieve an error saying someting about the partition. I finally managed to extract files but I still recieve some question about stealth files. Any suggestions?

I'm not using the pc drive for backup but the actual xbox360 drive hooked to PC with sata cable. Get an error saying "Unable to determine the current visible partition" when I try to rip the game from xbox. Do you have to merge any files after extraction or does XBC do the whole box and dice for you.

does anyone know what this means coming from xbox backup creator 2.3.
"The disk seems to be unlocked already. By continuing the video section will be filled with empty data and will not be stealth compatible. Do you want to continue"

After saying yes and continuing the rip of the game, when I go to burn the iso game it says DMI/SS and PFI are all present but stealth mode failed.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before I throw this 360 out the door.

I tried that but when I go to extract the game it says there is no valid xbox game in that drive. The games I backup using xbox backup creator play fine but when I was making the disc the program said that the game was not stealth compatible. What does this mean?
Does it mean I can't play them on xbox live?
