Ok i've been trying for days to get this video ripped into an AVI so i can apply a very simple avisynth sharpening script in pspvideo9 to sharpen the video as i'm converting it to psp format.
i'm new to video conversion and anything video related.
i've used 3 different programs including autoGK to try and rip this dvd, which does not have any protection on it according to dvd decrypter(probably because it was a torrent and already cleaned up for sharing). i use simple default options on these programs, original aspect, nothing special. but the video always comes up effed up, whether the aspect is all screwed up, the video and audio completely out of synch, or the video cannot be advanced with the slider without framerates and synch getting all weird. appolo #1 dvd ripper was another one i have tried to use. i always use IFO method and XviD as the encoder. the dvd can be copied to another dvd just fine and works, but i cannot get this thing ripped into a simple AVI for some reason!
i could try and use pspvideo9 to convert the VOB itself, but then i cannot apply the avisynth script right? i'm not sure why this isn't working for me with any program i've used
it is the dvd, although it has been decrypted and then burned again as the full dvd(vobs and such).
ok i finally got a working rip, sort of! i reinstalled XviD, and installed AC3 filter and codec, which is what the video apparently uses. i ripped it this time, and it worked. the only thing is, the volume is WAY too low. so, i can only do what a noob may do. i opened AC3Filter and turned the gain up on it, hoping that the next time i rip the dvd, the AC3 sound will not be so low in the end result(AVI).
i also did something else. i ripped the dvd, converting the audio to mp3 instead of AC3. the volume is perfect now, but i have another problem. the audio is out of sync with the video and i don't know how to fix that.
