Im trying to fix my brothers computer and his problem is that when he tries to search through his harddrive the windows has encountered a problem and needs to close popup. I have run usual antivirus programs such as symantic, avast, also ran PC-cillen Windows Washer, Ad-Aware SE, to no avail. I still havent tried running HijackThis and smithfraudFix yet, I wanted to wait on trying that to see if there is something else I could try. It happens when I search anything. All files and folders, media, pictures, music. There has come up before an error referring to the DEP Data Execution Prevention. I refered to help menus to see if this was any concern, but nothing I have done corrected the problem. Message back if you have any questions or a solution. :)
