Need help with ps2 dvd game copying!

First off I'm using a pioneer 105 dvd-rw drive with memorex dvd-rs, and alcohol 120% to copy the games. I'm still using the Gameshark swap trick, becuase I'm not sure about buying a modchip. Anyway I've already burned the game twice without any problems, the regular cd ps2 games work fine but when I try to out a burned dvd game it doesn't load it.
Can anyone please help before I waste more dvd-rs

check out the message board ment for ps2 but u need a mod chip to play burned ps2 games swap magic is good becuase there are no solder points and as long as you don't play imports it will work w/ burned games
