i bought my 360 about 2 months back but now i think its dvd drive just ran out of life its giving me all sorts of problems sometimes it hangs in games other times it just give an open tray message in dashboard and some times it gives dirty disk errors i really dont know what happened to it so guys please help meeeee.

you may have to look into the rubberband trick or the little piece of plastic depending on the make of your drive

if the rubber band mod etc doesnt work...all is not lost...as long as you have the drive key you could buy a new 360 drive and install that

Have you tried reburning the games to good media? Everything you mentioned is signs of bad burns.

the back ups works fine on other 360s of my friends it came premoded with xtbeme 3.2 how can i get the key and buy a new drive

That still don't mean the drive is going bad. I have backups burnt onto Verbatims at 2.4x which work on my samsung ms25 and yet give an open tray error on another ms25. Reburning at 4x fixed the open tray error for that 360.

Also, xtreme 5.2 impliments some open tray error fixes. I'd suggest updating your firmware and try burning atleast one of your games at 4x and on quality media.

I'm just trying to help you same some time and $$$ by suggesting you atleast try all available options before spending alot of $$$ on a new drive.
