I saw a post on maxconsole saying that all the european ps3s have had the emotion engine removed, so wot the F**k is that about??? yet again europeans get knocked again by $ony...

and i just saw on here that the european ps3 are not going to be multi- region. i mean is it going to be worth getting a european one for all the people that have not got one yet???? better off getting a import. its just another case off $ony ripping off the european gamers. Thanks $ony ;-(

Sony's semi Official blog 'Threespeech' has confirmed that European PS3's will have the emotion engine removed from the system, but will retain the graphics chip impacting upon the number of PS2 titles that will be backwards compatible. You'll be able to tell the difference in systems, via the PAL logo and the following serial numbers

I said I hate residing in europe for reasons like these obviousily :P
I was regarding that to the PS3 being different than the one in USA.
And all you did was show how immature you are and started just plainly insulting me with words you probably dont even know what mean (/me guess es you are 8 or a very dumb teenager).
And whats with the yank hate?
My mother is european fyi.
But yeah this is one of the reasons I like US better.

they are not removing the engine let me explain
sony to cut cost for the european launch of the ps3 have decided to remove the ps2 chipset out of the ps3 and go to a software solution to run ps2 games along with ps1 games
the good news about this this will result in the console running ps2 and ps1 games better with better graphics but there is a cost it will not play all playstation 2 and ps1 games is what sony has announced today
i received this info from my wii news channel on my wii and fond this to be bull that they can remove this chipset and mess over consumers in other countrys

well i live in the uk, and all i can say is i hope its not ture, couse we seem to be getting a bummer deal over here from sony. pay the most, have to wait the longest, and now this. i did read that in maxconsole too, i c where your coming from baba, just really hope its the same ps3 as the rest of the world.

This is a place to freely share information or opinions so if anyone needs to keep things to themselves it's you and your attitude. i only started this tread to say that i feel that the gamers in the euro zone seem to be getting a raw deal, if all i read is TURE, and that maybe people should look in to getting a import machine, thats it !!!

I ordered a PS3 from Argos, they have already taken the money!
With all this uncertainty and with Sony not to be trusted, particularly if your are not Jap or US, I am cancelling my pre order.
They have cut the emotion chip out to save on costs yet this saving has not been handed down to the UK market, yet they have already cut the cost of the JAP machine.
With the delay and now certain rumours coming out and hiking the UK/Euro price, Sony really are taking the piss out of us 'dumb' Europeans.
I've had enough and will wait till they bring out some decent games that are better than there Xbox counterparts AND they give us a realistic price

man you are 100% right, i belive that $ony are taking the piss out of the european gamers. BIG TIME !!! everyone should think about getting an import machine. and with the exchange rate you can save alot of money, and the import games are about £25/30, which is wot ive been paying.
