HELP MY PS2 READS MY PS2 DISCS FOR LIKE 5 SECONDS AND THEN STOPS IT DOESNT SAY ERROR OR ANYTHING AND I HAVE TRIED EVERY GAME ANYONE KNOW THE PROBLEM

dude, mayb ur lens or lasor is brokm, if the lasor is brokn, get a lasor fix, wats ur ps2 version

this happened to me once, it says reading disc but then "reading disc" dissapears in about 2 secs and nothing happens, this is because your laser is dead or broken, i broke mine myself by accident because i cleaned it with white spirit :S

another thing i can add is we have a pool table right by my ps2 and we use baby powder to loosen the grip my bro being a retard sprayed my friend and it got on a disc an he put it in is that why maybe

just clean the laser for about a minute with a dry cotten bud and it shud work cause dats wat i did, but then it messed up again after a few months so i decided to try white spirit and ended up melting the laser :S so dont use white spirit

You'll have to buy a new laser, these go for about £20($40) on ebay look around for your version and model number.

watz ur ps2 version, coz if itz a v12, that has lasor problems, so most probably the lasor is brokn

It isnt hard, its quite simple, but you need to make sure that you dont lose anything, because a few clips are quite small, and are necessary to hold everything in place.

Not really, you lose the drive assembly, some of the drive units have screws, some have clips, there is a guide online that tells you how to change the laser, I will try find it, and get back to u.
