I have finished installing a dms4 ezi lite. I have toxic bios 1.4 on my computer but am not sure how to flash it to the bios. Also is the toxic 1.4 all i need to play backup games, media, and games from a hdd?

I haven't flashed my bios for a while, but I think you have to burn the bios image onto a CD, and then boot the PS2 with that disc in the drive. The bios image that you downloaded should have included some instructions with it. If not, check out the DMS forums and you should find directions over there.

With the "Lite" version of the modchip, I don't think you can directly boot from the Hard Drive using just the chip (unless the Toxic bios has been updated with this feature.) You will probably need to install the Memory Card exploit, or you can even boot from a burnt copy of the HDLoader or HDAdvance disc.

he is correct, if you wanted to run a hard drive you should have researched it and bought a DMS4 Pro instead. With the lite version you will need to use HD Loader or HD Advance for internal or USB Extreme for an external.

As far as flashing it
1. download and unzip the file
2. burn the Cue file to a CD
3. stick the CD in your PS2 and hit reset so it loads

You can run HD Loader from a disc, memory card, or the hard drive. Just a bit trickier to install and get running versus the Toxic OS.

"-> Dev.olution mode

Using Dev.olution mode you can boot applications from either the memory
card or hard disk drive. When booting in MC Dev.olution mode, the ELF file
"mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF" is launched. This ELF file can be anything you want,
such as DMS Explorer, PS2Menu, PS2OS etc. To boot in MC Dev.olution mode
either hold down TRIANGLE on controller 1 while the PS2 is booting, or
set default boot mode to MC Dev.olution in the configuration menu. Currently
the only application which can be launched with HDD Dev.olution mode is
DMS HDD Explorer.
Once HDD Explorer is installed, you may boot in HDD
Dev.olution mode by either holding down START on controller 1 while the PS2
is booting, or set default boot mode to HDD Dev.olution in the configuration
menu.

NOTE: From ToxicBIOS v1.2 and up you must use DMS HDD Explorer v1.3 or
greater. Older versions are no longer supported."
