does the ps3 have the ablility to share video files with a pc specifically AVI files. Do you need to install one of the linux os? Is it a bad idea to use other os? sorry im new to ps3 scene. For now mostly I want to watch my video files that are on my computer on the ps3.

Well, what i did is that i just used a flashdrive to transfer files. I don't know if that would be a problem for you, but that's the only way i know.
