ROFL, no... IT WILL TEAR A WHOLE IN THE UNIVERSE!
Lol, im done now. No, its not going to blow up. It (the graphics) just wont look as good.

EDIT- fixed wording

Doesnt expecting the unexpected make the unexpected expected and therefore mean youre expecting the expected which was the unexpected until you expected it?

The monitor in question will explode due to the PS3 trying to squeeze 1080 lines of resolution into a set which normally does say 270 lines. Those extra 810 lines will flood the circuits and or tubes and cause a serious meltdown of something. If your set has lots of open slots on the top, the pressure can't build up and you'll be safe, the flames will stop shooting out after say 30-60 seconds, after which the power supply will have blown and the only damage will be to flammable objects within 10 feet of the back of the set. Of course you being the smart individual that you are have already tossed a 5 gallon bucket of water on top of the offending fireball, thus preventing a call to 911 for a house fire. You do keep an emergency bucket of water near all of your electrical appliances, right? If not, Ace hardware is having a sale on these this week, just ask for a neutral ionized fire bucket, don't buy the regular plastic one because they build up static charges from all of the water sloshing around inside as you pour it into the inside of the monitor. Anyways, make sure you read the safety warnings that come with your PS3 and don't try to hook it up to an old fatty TV. Rush out and buy a really good 1080 or better line resolution HD TV.

Really? I thought it would make the screen go about 5times its size like in cartoon land.

The newer ones which are made from space age materials will expand, older sets, like with knobs can't expand and will go BOOM!

Actually independent testing has proven that the TV will implode on itself thus creating a mini black hole which has the potential to swallow an entire neigborhood.

Really?! Now I want to get a PS3 so I can make a black whole and study it. I can only imagine, I'll be rich! The first person to actually make close up observations of a real black whole.

Seriously, will it explode? I thought it would super downscale or something.

Wow, this thread is still going? Im actually starting to feel sorry for the idiot that asked the first question. BTW, there are never stupid questions, just stupid people.

My god, the sequence of events that would follow after connecting to a 15 inch TV can only be compared to the cataclysm that would occur if man were successfully able to divide by 0.

Seriously, does the OP think PS3's harness the power of super novas to run or something? Its a damn games console!
