I've tried to back up my 6 disk set of NYPD Blue. Season 2. I use DVD X Copy Express. On every other dvd I've used it on it has worked great. Perfect copies. I have a brand new FAST WinXP machine with the latest in dvd burners. As I've said I never had a problems yet. But I can't get disk 6 to copy. It fails on the "read" I've even gotten another disk 6 and tried that, get's most of the way through then fails. I have plenty of hard drive space and I'm freshly defragged. What could be the problem? Maybe copy protection? If so, why just on disk 6?

Thanks, but guees you didn't catch that I said I even tried ANOTHER disk6 also. So it's not the fact that it's damaged ir dirty. But the dirt thing was the first thing I checked. It seems the disk is very full. Yet even trying to strip the video off doesn't work. HMMMM?

I'll be curious to see if anyone can help you. I have had similar problems with tv series. Several discs backup fine, but one or two will have an error message while reading. I called 321 studios and they don't have an answer yet. They did however, tell me to look for a tdf file at this site. You can check the tdf file page and see if your disc posts. If it does, you highlight the name of the file, drag it to the address page and hit go. You are then taken to the download spot. You download the file and click it to start DVD XCopy Xpress. Unfortunately, this file isn't there yet, nor is the one I am looking for. If I find the address of the page I am referrring to, I will send it.

By the way, when you double click the TDF file on your hard drive, DVD XCopy Xpresss should open it and record it as normal.

Tried DVD Shrink. It seemed to "shink" and copy all the DVD, then when I went to Nero, It didn't "like" the files. It said something like, "unconfermed files" or something like that. (deleted and tried a 2nd time) So I tried the dvd write in Roxio 6.0. It Didn't like them either. Something about an audio problem. I wonder if it's because its a dvd9 type dvd. LOTS of data on the dvd. You know, several TV series shows. So.......... I d/l'ed a new "trial/demo" program a dvd cloner. The problem with this little baby, is that it rips all the VOB files off, but being a demo, it only burns a "partial" dvd. You have to register (and pay) for it on the internet. So........ After it riped the files, just as it finished and wanted me to do the "partial" burn, I file copied the files to a different directory. Then canceled it, which it then deleted the files in the save directory. Then I loaded Nero and attempted to burn them. Had to head to work, so I don't know the results yet. Will see when I get home. Sure hope it works. Again, thanks for the tips.

Hey, it worked!!! I shrunk it, then used Nero and burned it. I must have not did something right in Nero, Didn't realize that it had to be in a certain mode, or they had to be in a certain directory. So now I know. If my 2 main back up programs don't work, I'll do it this way. Thanks again to everyone who agve me advice. GREAT SITE! GREAT PEOPLE!

Glad you got it to work. What way did you burn it so others can see how it was done successfully? ;-)
