Hello, I just recently ripped Onimusha Dawn of Dreams and was shocked at the fact that the first disc is 4.37GB...And I'm using the cogswap method which would mean I would need a higher TOC, so far the highest TOC I've seen that can beat this behemoth of a game would be...you ready for it...nothing! I have another original game nearly similar to it's size which would be Sonic's Mega Collection (Same TOC disc I use for all other games) however this time it failed me! I even tried to rebuild the file using Gnies Expert tool which reduced the file to 3.77GB and burnt to around 4GB's, but it failed me as well...So what am I supposed to do in this case o.o? It's not the media, that's for sure.

Sorry to post something useless, but I've happen to read this somewhere haven't I? Tribalpinoy? But with a "few" exception of changes.

Wait, Xenosaga 2 has a TOC size of 4.7GB (disc 1) and could be used to refresh the TOC with, why not that? Or even the Devil May Cry (1). You could just pop by your local game store and see if they have one second hand.

4.37GB JAP Xenosaga Episode II JAP Disc 1
4.37GB JAP Xenosaga Episode II JAP Disc 2

I take it the NTSC US Xenosaga EP. 2 Disc 1 is 4.7GB's correct...just need a double check before I shell out dough.

Yeah, that should do about right. Actaully DVD5 games only get up to 4.37GB, 4.7GB is the expression used for the whole DVD5 being used up. ;) Anyway, it will work notheless. Enjoy.

Do you think I could possibly remove all the FMVS to reduce the file size lmao? And if so how xD?

Also what confuses me is that the disc 1 ISO file size is 4.37GB but IMG Burn says it's (4,695,425,024 Bytes)...and then Alcohol says it's 4.5Gb (4477.9 MB) and when I put in the burnt disc into the dvd drive it registers at 4.69+Gb's Used...and no free space...the hell is going on?

Actually, I think you can. Depends on what files are used as the FMV, for example if its in .PSS it means you could easily replace it with a dummy version of it. Its pretty much rebuilding the game and replacing the unwanted files.

As for the file sizes, who know, its all f***ed if you ask me.

if you have isobuster progeram you can use it to make ythe game file size smaller.and it will work.ripp it to the computer using DVD Decrypter, alchol 120, or other ps2 dvd ripping.saveit.then open isobuster.then goe to open file.choose the file.it will show in isobuster.there should be 2 tabs.iso and udf.click on the iso tab.open up Nero then highlight the iso file and grag it to the Nero complition.then burn it.if need any help search on afterdawn on how to use isobuster.i think it is better than gnie progarm.but it just me.isobuster is easier to use.works verry well.

In response to ballers: Yes I've shrunk it before using Gnies Expert tool which shrunk it to 3,954,048Kbs and a manual attempt with isobuster<CD2DVDGen<Iml2Iso<now this manual attempt is approx 3,954,036Kbs...I have yet to burn the manual attempt onto a dvd.

However here's the news, I've tried the first disc to run from the dvd-rom in an emulator and it worked. Then I tried the second backup the much smaller 4gig version and it loaded up in the emu as well...So what's up?

As for .pss files I'm no seeing any >>

Yes open up with the isobuster click on iso part then drag the iso part not udf and drag it to Nero dvd complition.not to cddvdgen.then burn it using Nero.open up ISOBUSTER,take the image with iso by it into ISOBUSTER,then drag the files as the appear in ISOBUSTER to either ROXIO,or Nero..Iused ROXIO,i then burnt to disc at 8 speed...it works perfect..let me know how you get on.any bits you dont understand just ask again.or go to the site where it teaches you to burn fifa 07 by using isobuster.

Yep tried it and it don't work. And yes I've already used this technique for several games successfully as for a higher TOC disc both Xenosaga and Devil May Cry don't work.

Any suggestions?

Buddy as far as I'm concerned
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/182717
Star Ocean has a relatively smaller TOC than both XenoSaga Ep.II and Devil May Cry which I both bought at gamestop used and abused. I wish your "100%works" would actually kick in xD
