Help - Backups wont play after 5.2 update!!

Hi Guys
With some of your help I flashed to extreme 3.3 some time ago and had no problems.
I decided to go for the latest 5.2 update and flashed my Samsung MS25 drive with it..
Now all I can play are the origionals and DVD movies, any back ups just wont load, they sit READING forever before I get an unreadable disc message...
I get Open Tray if no disc is in the drive now too?
I think I may have bricked my drive but dont know how??
Can anyone help?

Well Ive sat all night with this thing and tried the rubber band trick till im blue in the face and still all that will run are origionals and movies?
Is my drive bricked? although its playing the origionals it should do the backups too eh?
But I just get Open Tray!!!!!
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
I hope someone can advise as I havent got a clue what to try apart from buy a new drive from Ebay but is the same going to happen again if I flash that too?
Whats going On guys!!

Anyone?
If I buy a new drive will this fix my problem or has MS done summat to the xbox when the kids have been on live!!
Cmon Guys I did this with your help and Im realy stuck Now!!

try to flash it again, sounds like your flashed your orig.bin to your drive

Thanks Mike,
I thought that too as thats how its behaving, But I sat for 9 hours with it yeterday and no matter what I did or what version I flash to I just get the same result???
Im going bonkers with it!!! It wouldnt be so bad but I dont even play it, and the kids say they have been asked to do several updates when on Live and I presumed MS did summat?
I tried going back to my extreme 3.3 and ive tried 5.2 A B C & D,
Each time i pointed to my Orig.bin so the Dos program can inject my key and I guess Ive done that properly or it just wouldnt work at all eh?

No worrys Mike thanks for the reply, hopefully some of the others may have some suggestions...
I realise if its still playing origionals I dont realy have a problem but summats not right and open tray all the time??
It ran for months on 3.3 and then BANG!!

it could be the burns you used, they may not be patched up to the standards of the new FW

Ive done all my own backups on Verbs and done to the 3.3 standard so would the 5.2 update not be backward compatable to play these?

On reading what ive posted What I never mentioned was the Open Tray started before I re flashed and this was what spurred on the update as I didnt want to have to open the xbox again but the kids were moaning!!
