PS1 games skipping on chipped PS2

So i have a PAL slimline PS2 with a matrix infinity chip installed and a laser fix.

My PS2 DVD and CD games work absolutely fine but my PS1 games boot up but skip all over the shop. I have the same issue with music CDs.

All games used are the original versions and not back ups. Could someone advise me what the problem could be and how to fix it please? I'm thinking i might just need to realign the laser but don't know how to. Thanks.

in general you shouldnt use cds or ps1 disk or movies in a ps2 because they were out the laser and soon your laser will only be able to read ps2 games and maybe movies.you can get your laser cleaned at a shop and that should fix the problem.
