Having a little trouble with KOTOR

Hey I'm kinda new to all of this so bear with me.... I just downloaded a Knights of the Old Republic torrent that took forever I might add. So when I opened the folder up there are 4 Rar archive folders labled KOTOR_1 through _4. I'm guessing these represent the CD's so I used WinRAR to un-rar them. I have Daemon Tools so I I mounted the original Rar archive files. I proceeded to install the game (no problems). When I finally installed the whole game and went to play it it would seem to work then just not boot up. I don't know what's wrong. Any help would be nice.
