i've been having some problems with my 360 so I wanted to try to exchange it for another, problem is my warranty ran out ages ago. so i thought maybe walmart would exchange it, since from whati hear they five u a gift card if u dont have a receipt. i have the box and everything that came with it, so i think they'll probly take it. has any1 else tryed this?

All you do is say you got it as a birthday present from your Grandma a couple of days ago and it died and she doesn't have a receipt!

if you do somthing like i did ; Tried that, ive had the 360 past over 90+ days or more; they still check the damn serial on the xbox360 case to make sure its not over the 90 days trial period - i had the recipt but it was to old; about 1 yr later.
but good luck if your trying; they wont give me a gift card or nothing just cuz the system was 90 days old and over.

How would they be able to tell if it was over the warranty period? The serial number doesn't include the purchase date!

ill be taking it back today after school so ill tell u guy what happens, but i use to work at walmart and i dont think i ever seen any1 even check the serial code on consoles they just made sure all the parts where in the box.

when the sale is made at wal-mart they log the serial. I took one back but they wouldnt take it they said it wasnt from their store so i swapped cases with a buddy that just got his not to long ago and they took it lol

i got another idea if this doesnt work, im gonna buy another 360 and switch the cases then take the 1 i bought back and get my money, i kno thats wrong but im broke lol

i just did that just a bit ago.just change the cases and you'll be fine.i had to sign the reciept but i did an unreadable signature.

guess im gonig to have to go with my second option, they told me they couldnt do anything without a receipt, sigh was worth a try.

ok im 100% postive if you dont have a recpit then you WILL NOT get a refund or anything.
depends on if they scaned your serial. most people at walmart dont scan, mine wasnt serial scaned.
after 30days walmart warentee its no go man.
walmart isnt a pushover store.

So I guess you will need to buy a new console and take the Cases apart and put the bad console in the new case and return it!

No we don't! AS in we I mean they cause my Grandpa is a costo manager. They do offer a great warranty 1 year on game consoles! If it dies and is still under the Manufactures warranty they replace it with a new one but you "NEED" a recipt

They never even checked my xbox360 to see if all the parts were inside they only scanned the register serial for xbox thats sam's club.... lol

costco has changed their policy to 90 days or electronics. which is lame since I bought my 360 from there. I bet they don't check serial numbers though
