need help with running a game with hook boot

when i run a game from the memory stick, the hook boot screen comes up (v0.10) an then goes like this;

----select hook mode----
CIRCLE :UMD EMULATION(MS BOOT)< err i think its this one?
other : API MONITOR only

well if i press circle, another comes up as this:

----select log mode---
CIRCLE :NO OUTPUT
TRIANGLE :DISPLAY
CROSS :FILE

aaaaand from there im lost, someone please help? ><"

nobody uses hook boot anymore, just upgrade to 3.03oe-c or 3.10oe-a
