Hello

I wanted to carry out what I thought would be a simple task but it turns out it is not so. What I want to do is record one song from a live DVD, keep the beginning, end and audio the same, add edited highlights from the rest of the dvd and transfer the video to my Orange SPV M600 phone to show my friends what they missed out on by not going to the concert.

I am a complete novice at this so I did a bit of research and ended up downloading the following.

DVD decoder for graphics card, DVD2AVI, DVD Shrink, DVDFab Decrypter, VFAPI codec.

Using the DVD2AVI seemed the simplest option. After adding all of the VOB files (19 in total) from the DVD and saving the project as a d2v file the programme seems to have stalled. The title bar reads DVD2AVI-[1/19]VIDEO_TS.VOB 720 x 576[16x][32x].

Does this mean it's converting 1 of 19 files because it's been like it for over an hour. This is getting quite frustrating. I don't want to go to the expense of purchasing software for what might be a one off and given what I've discovered so far I doubt a single package will suffice but surely it can't be as difficult as I'm finding out.
Is there an easier way.

I have also downloaded Video Edit Magic 4.2 and AVS Video Tools Trial though I haven't tried them yet.
