Ok after reading alot of posts about alot of stuff i've learned that DVDXCOPY and DVDXCOPY EXPRESS make great backups but alot of people have problems with it and it's not worth the money for the problems and the watermark crap. I'm using DVD Decrypter and DVD2ONE and NERO for DVD-9 Movies. What is the best program or programs for older movies i got that are DVD-5 so i get good quality and all the extra stuff. I'm not to familiar with the tools i have now i'm just going by a tutoral cause for DVD-9 i don't care about the menus and the extras but for DVD-5 i want the menus and extras cause it will fit on a DVD. Hope you understand what i'm saying. Thanks for the help.

george0: I don't have DVDXCOPY Express, i havn't used it cause of the bad posts about it.
I just thought of another question everyone.
I havn't burned a DVD yet because i been trying all kinds of software to find the best and easiest ones. Like above i used DVD Decrypter and DVD2One and Nero.I was using a Guide to rip and burn with those tools and i tried one of my movies "Monsters Inc." and just out of curiousity i went to the folder i ripped it to and played some chapters, with my ATI player cause it recognizes VOB files, and the quality was surprisingly great. Now my question is, when i burn this with Nero will the quality be the same as the VOB file i just played? i'm assuming yes since that's waht i'm burning. (like i said i'm a newbie to this)
Thanks again

I would just like to clear something up contrary to the threads that have been posted (myself included)
DVD X Copy is a very good program, and does what it is supposed to do very well. it is expensive, but is a true one click solution to backing up your DVD's. Its a great tool for those who are:
a). Lazy
b). Not technically gifted in anyway!
Dont dish it without first trying it and remember that just because you personally dont like it doesnt mean it isnt good. I hate it, but i understand that it is good. I really shouldnt say it is crap all the time since it isnt.

george0,
You probably know where to buy DVD X Copy. Ask for a crack or the full version one more time and you're banned.

Oriphus,
Yes dvdxcopy is a very good program with great results as long as you like two disk movies. I for one hate to get up half may through a movie to change the disc so I use dvdshrink to compress all my movies. I initially bought dvdxcopy and recieved dvdxpress as a bonus. This program is'nt worth a pinch of sh!!. I'm hoping with updates it will improve but for now I'm happy with dvdshrink because it has not failed me yet.

I'm with Ozy. I originally bought DVD XCopy and got the XCopyXpress upgrade free but I had issues of playback in the car and on my standalone. I have since converted to DVDShrink and recordmax. While it is an extra step, (no 1-click functionality) I don't think that it is difficult or complicated and I now have no compatibility issues. DVDshrink will rip and compress to 1 disc without any (to my eye) degradation in quality. I don't see myself going back to xcopy ever again.

I guess that's why they make Chocolate and Vanilla, different strokes and like that -
I received XPRESS as a bonus too and when they came out with the complete movie backup with just 1 click, well I thought it was great. The small problems I did find were easily fixed through the forums (like using a DVD ROM to access the movie for XCOPY instead of a burner).
I run DVD Shrink 2.3 also when I don't want that warning screen at the beginning.
That?s it!
DVD Shrink for a rip without the warning and
DVD XCOPY when you are just too lazy or for those rare movies, well over 9GB that DVD Shrink just has too much trouble with.
For me at least, DVD XCOPY XPRESS was more than worth the money when you want the quality of a movie that you can?t achieve when having to choose still pictures (85% compression) and level #10 (48% compression) -
