freezing on 3.10oe-a please need help

smack down vs raw 2007 freezes when you try to select a option, i,ve had similiar problem with shreck smash and crash, Is this a ratchet and clank thing where you have to change cpu speed and the use no umd enabled, if so could you give me a link to the games that are affected and the settings in recovery mode thank you.
