Hello,

I had a Matrix Infinity installed on my PS2. It can still play original games, but I can't play any backup DVDs. The brand of DVD-R I use is crappy according to the websites I visited. The error message I get is "Please insert a PS1 or PS2 DVD format".

Could the problem be the DVD brand and quality? I personnally doubt it, because of the error i get (If it was the DVD, wouldn't the error be something like "Reading error"?).

Also, the guy who installed the modchip tested it with many backups and said it worked.

Please help.

yes, it could be the discs. You need to use quality DVD's
there is no way to tell if the chip works right unless you use good discs and copy them the correct way
