need help for 2.6, i don't want to mess it up

okay im a real noob and i have a psp 2.6(i just got it,i was saving for ps3 but just could'nt wait) and i've checked the forums but most of them are old already so i need an up to date opinion.Okay i want to be able to play .iso and emulators so whats the best way
to do this,and safest,and that doesn't require a specific game like that thing that u need liberty stories
or something like that.I want to know whats the best way to play bootable games, like is it best to downgrade from 2.6 or update to 2.7 and then downgrade or update and use a software. u know which one of these program is the best and most stable,like i've heard of this thing that downgrades u're firmware but lets u use the the perks of an upto date firmware,and if u can include a good guide, anything along those lines would be fine.I see many things on sites but their usually outdated and they don't explain how and whats it for.Any help is appreciated.

just downgrade from 2.6.
if ur not willing to take the risks, then don't. there's no other way. if u use the right downgrader from trusted sources, and follow instructions correctly, u should be fine

okay it says for me to upgrade to 2.71 and then downgrade,okay what do i do after i've downgraded and whats the best proram or thing to use to play games,and i've heard that some games need u to have the newest firmware to play so how do i play those games if my firmware would be 1.5? and what of all the security and extra' that the newst firmware give u,i can't have them?

Dark Alex's 3.03 OE-C, or 3.10 OE-A....all depends on how new the games are you wanna play, also custimization differs between the two...
Both of these CFW are able to play 1.50 homebrew apps & games as well as all the new sony games that are out & coming out...
Hex's Winstaller download is stickied @ the top of the thread index...

OE means open end; meaning: sony firmware's 1.50 & 3.03 blended together with full capabilities of both FWs...security, games & all...
+ you get a recovery option, if you want to go back to 1.50 & a whole bunch of options...
3.03 OE-C is what i run, I like it because its easy to customize:
some like 3.10 OE-A because it allows you to have the ability to play all the new games & demos from sony, but still be able to run homebrew apps & iso backups w/o an eemulator...

HEHE! id recomend 3.10 OE-A or 3.03 OE-C over Devhook, since devhook requires that you run the program everytime you want to emulate a firmware...which can get tedious...
OE's allow you to customize EVERYTHING about your psp; with OE-C in particular (more options than 3.10 OE-A at the moment) you can customize the gameboot, bootsound, put your background image behind the XMB waves, change the font, the text under icons in the xmb....

Sure...dont know why you would, but if you like the feel of 2.71...maybe you should check out 2.71 SE by DAX...i dont have a link, but i know you can find it at dl.qj.net.....
same as the newest OE's....1.50+2.71 blended together, not as many options as OE-C or OE-A, but excellent none the less...
...along with the original 2.71 & various other fws & cfws...

yep...CSO, ISO & EBOOT's are all the game-types that can work with an OE...
once you've got one installed (3.03 oe-c or 3.10 oe-a), all you do is place your ISO or CSO(compressed ISO) into ms0:/ISO/ folder...& it should run straight from the XMB menu...
there is a list of the smallest psp games thread somewhere around here, just gotta search for it...but its a long standing thread, and should hail some great info for ya..

Hi - another noobi here.
I have downloaded 1.5 custom firmware - the proof of concept from the dark alex link on psp blender. Will this downgrade OK from V2.6 (TA-082 motherboard) to V1.5 so I can up to 3.1OE.
If not, where is the best place to get the firmwares for Downgrading.
