Got this horrible POS dvd player for christmas.. couldnt play vcd, svcd or even mp3 discs.. damned thing even had trouble playing some newer dvds!

Well that all changed when regionfreed this player! For some reason when I regionfreed the DVP853, I seemed to have enabled other features.. I read the manul and consulated the website to see if this player supports svcd/vcd.. NOPE.. yet it will play them now.. :)
