I had 1GB USB stick. i have a dvd with mp3s. Ps2 is modded with infinity mod chip.

How do i have my ps2 reading software from my usb stick and have my mp3 playing?

I dont wish to burn any software on CD/DVD because my burner is spolit. So i wish to install from USB stick.

I'm not positive about the whole modchip because I don't know what kind of software is with it (I've never used one before, and besides the memory card exploit does everything and then some).I would Suggest installing the Memory card exploit or making a disk for some sort of media player homebrew application. Since you have a modchip you would only need to make a SMS/MyPS2/Reality Media Player disk.
If you need more help look on the forums for tutorials or try googling it. If you can't find it there come back here and we will help you find it :)
