Difference b/t DVD XPress 2.0. 2.5, 3.0

1) For people that use DVDXCopy Xpress, does anyone know the differences between 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0 besides fixing the bugs and 3.0's ability to copy the entire disc?
I read in an old forum that 2.5 has better compression than 3.0, but I had always assumed Xpress worked similarly to DVDShrink, ie, it just automatically compressed as little as possible. I don't understand why one version would compress better than another. I'm happy with the 2.5 I have now, but want to update to 3.0 so I can copy whole discs if it's single layered.
2) Also, when using 3.0 to copy entire discs, is the quality poor if the disc is dual layered?
