I have had a super fast rip before also using DVDDecrypter that took a few minutes and couldn't believe whta I was seeing and just thought the files were gonna be mush but they weren't

the thing was when I tried it again it went normal speed!

Yeah, it is noticeably slower now - back down to 6x and 7x, was pretty cool though and the DVD works great.

Yeah - its a pity it doesnt happen more often. Could it be on DVD's without encryption. I never checked, but i doubt it since DVD Decrypter wouldve thrown up an error and all DVD's have CSS. Im just waffling!

Single layer discs rip at faster speeds from what I have noticed.

Normally I get about 7-8x with DVD Decrypter on a dual layer disc and I can top out at the full 16x sometimes with an average of 14-15x on single layer discs.

I also think some dvd's don't have CSS on them. Only way I can think to see if it has CSS on them is to run them through Pinnacle IC since it will not do CSS protected discs.

DVD drives on duel layered dvd's needs to read two levels and so slows down due to the amount of data it is reading but on a single layered dvd, it can increase the speed and so rip faster. If you use AnyDVD while using DVD Decrypter on a duel layered dvd, it normally rips abit faster at about 10-13X, dunno why?
