Hi. I hope I am in the right forum. I would like to extract the video_ts folder from an .avi file then burn it to a dvd rewritable disk. Can this be done without using ConvertXtoDVD software? Any suggestions will be appreciated. annrice44

There is no VIDEO_TS folder in an AVI file.
You will need to convert it to DVD.

yes Nero will do converting. there are other programs that will do converting, but ConvertXtoDVD is one of the best, there are some shareware converting programs,
