I personally like it. There are some things that MS still need to work out but it's a nice operating system.

You won't be saying that once you get the retail version...
Besides, i noticed you're not using all the new specs, like the Aero desktop... Guess your system didn't want to even try it ?

Yes my system does support Aero and I do use it. I'm still using the RC2 version so I'm still testing. All the software and hardware I have on it now works fine.

messed up the autoquote there a bit, amigo.
there's lots of reasons to hate vista, from being a systems hog to DRM to the typically windows BSOD and instability issues. it's simply inferior to what can be found out there for far cheaper/free.
the *only* reason to stick with windows is for the games. everything else can be done as well or better on a linux system. the key to have a gaming machine and a regular-use, down-tuned machine, which i'd say most people who game have anyway. just put linux on the down-tuned machine and you'll be a happy camper. :-)

based upon what you and neph and many others have said, creakster, that's what i currently intend to do. my only worry is that the conversion might be a bit tricky for me, but it should go well overall, i hope.
