No subbed boxes just the 18channel analogue service which is fine but a bit worse than it used, Every tv point has got the ntl digital point boxes though if that makes any differnce
How can i fix the problem? NTL, signal booster?

If the problem is only recent but has also affected your neighbours. It is either a loose connection on the tap in the eaves or someone have moved your connection in the street cab.
As you pay for services call N** out to fix the problem. Obviously removing your "other" boxes first. Definitely a CC issue if direct connection to TV is also affected.

The effect on our normal tv is only sometimes, maybe a minute a day, and i dont know if my neighbours are getting this but the boxes don't work anymore in the estate. If i call them out wont they want to test my ty and then they'll think nothing is wrong that should be unless it happens to happen when they are there?

If the problem is intermittent then its a loose or open connection. An open, (non water tight), connection in the weather we have been having would cause this affect.
What part of Dublin are you in?

Your area is prone to these intermittent problems. As per you BER numbers, BER is Bit Error Ratio which shows your signal is affected by you read out. Usually I would say its an internal cable problem, but because of your neighbour having the same issue the problem points to an external cause.

So hold out, get ntl to check cables in house, or cables into house, or signal booster?

They will test signal quality from house to tap and then onto cab if needed. But it sounds like an external tap problem, they will know by their BER sig.
Signal booster will only amplify a bad signal if that is the case.

You can split them.
If your dreambox shows probs then buy a signal booster.
I have split mines over bout 10m and it is fine but i done another which was over 15m and they needed a signal booster.
Cheers for this. The two boxes will only be 1 or 2 metres apart. I assume the signal booster is needed when the boxes are 15m plus away from the splitter.
On most of my movie channels it has the audio description on it (Which is very very annoying) anyway to turn this function off?

Press the audio button.
This has the option of having a narrator for whatever you are viewing.

Alright lads,
I have flashed the Image onto my DB and this has worked, i have done a Transpnder scan and it tells me that it can't unlock the Channels so i only have the Basic TV channels
Any help please.

Click no when asked to flash erase.
I take it you used the dreamup method.

Yeah i used the Dreamup method and did the Flash, hit no to erase but it erased anyway, it is on the Box but No channels unlocked

i just bought a envison 500c (same as a dreambox)
does anyone have the image with autorolling keys in it.
how do i flash it with null modem cable is there any software i need to download.

and from N.ireland so the best image for there and also hen serching for channels do in search 6887 or ireland bruteforce

Cheers. My box seems to have Narrator option as default so everytime i switch channels it reverts back to narrator audio. Is there a way to default just normal English.

Evening everyone.
Please bear with me!
Trying to figure out what's going on with my DBox. Television signal went on Saturday (normal TV and digital) in the Clonsilla area. Normal TV's come back but I'm getting no signal on the DBox. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi all
Ive not posted any comments for a while, however phase123 has helped me a lot in the past. I tried to previously reflash my dm500c and got nowhere. I told my partner to skip the box and instead of doing that he just put it to the back of the cupboard. Well I came across it the other day and thought well if it hasnt been trashed I might as well try again for what its worth. I bought a new usb converter and rs232 lead and bingo something changed. when using dreamup,it recognises that the box is a dm500 and then the status bar goes green and it says uploading flash loader, then it says upload completed, waiting for acknowledge...
it doesnt go any further. can anyone please advise me what im doing wrong.

I've had my box set up and flashed for a bit and i'm well happy with it..... I haven't got discovery channel though..... i got realtime, turbo, home and health, and all that other crap but no vanilla discovery.... also can i get the on demand ppv stuff somehow ?
Is the discovery thing a virgin thing or do i just need to search more ?
