This could stand as a really good example of a bad post. First the title. All capital letters is the same as shouting. It is rude. All those question marks don't make people want to answer your question either. One is enough! And "What title said" in SHOUTING CAPITAL LETTERS is so rude. It's like you're shouting at your dog. So I won't be answering, even though I do know the answer.

He's gotta be! I would never buy a Dell! They are often terribly incompatible hardware-wise, and they are often poor value for money. Many have non standard motherboard/PSU wiring which locks you into Dell if you need spares, (and gives you a nasty and expensive surprise if you try to fit ordinary parts!) and Dell spares are expensive.
At last I checked, but then again it really depends on what you have put in it....the XPS 710, uses old (last year, three years ago) parts.

All old stuff...if you're going for something new, build it yourself...besides, anything you buy from an OEM dealer starts off with an OEM motherboard....and it's all downhill from there.
The G2P [...] in my opinion is for those people who are looking for a moderate gaming desktop replacement.

Yes...it's possible for you to build your own laptop....even from the ground up. Case, all the hardware...you name it. It's not as easy as building a tower...
Most OEM dealers only allow you to configure a laptop's specs depending on what's available for that model. You can define the size of the hard drive, the video card...amount of memory and so on. Choosing the motherboard....well, that's model dependent and not available as an option. Unlike a server or midcase tower, a laptop is confined by space...so it's options and upgrades are limited.
But yes....you can build your own.
