I'm looking for a tool that will display any read errors on DVDs I have burned. I've tried DVDInfo 2, but after it scans about a GB of the disc, I get an error message, and the program will only run again after I reboot, and then the same thing happens again. Is there another tool out there that can show read errors on a DVD?

If you have a LiteON DVD drive , The best utility to use is K-Probe, this gives you the PI/PO error rates on a DVD-R, the lower the better. (similar to C1/C2 error rates on CD-R's)
If the error rate goes high (around 200+ is the max i believe) , your DVD-R isn't very good.
Check on the media forum on cdfreaks.com or the reviews of the pioneer 106 on cdrinfo.com for some examples of K-probe graphs from good & bad quality DVD-R discs. The best discs will give very low error rates.

Sorry, this utility was written by a LiteON Engineer for primarily internal testing of LiteON's own upcoming DVD burners (not the Sony-made rebrand they are selling at the moment) so is only usable on these burners & LiteON's DVD-ROM drives.
Forgot to mention, it does allow you to test C1/C2 error rates on CD-RW drives from LiteON aswell. Best media testing tool if you have a LiteON in my opinion :)

I use the K-Probe test, in fact it is the main reason I chose a Lite-On as my DVD-ROM.
Liteon's excuse for making it exclusive to their brand - "it only works with liteon because it was designer for our burners" is clearly an excuse because it works with their DVD-ROMs which can't burn a thing.
In any case if you plan to buy a DVD-ROM, get a Liteon because this is *by far* the most useful and sophisticated tool for quantifying error rates and testing just how good media is, not just whether it is readable or not - Nero speed test is a distant second. You will be able to extrapolate which discs are most susceptible to faliure in the future both from less sensitive lasers and from disc scratches or degradation. I love this tool.
