here is what i got
wmachine 667ir(a friends) her b.f reformatted the hard drive but the recovery cd causes this error critical error abort retry ignore fail the bios recognizes the hard drive and fdisk says 28 gb of free space (30gb hd) is there any way to fix this without the recovery cd or is this a hard drive gone bad

The hard drive sounds fine. The recovery disc sounnds damaged and you may just need to boot the OS using another Windows disc. Try that and keep me posted.
