need help flashing ms28 beginner

Okay I'll try to post as much information as I can and thank you to anyone reading this.

I tried following the textbook's tutorial step by step.

Using the following
Samsung ms28 drive
Xtreme Boot Maker V.0.3.6
SYBA SY-VIA-150 PCI SATA / IDE Combo Controller Card, Non Raid - Retail

1. I plugged in the PCI card into my PCI slot and installed the drivers using the CD.
2. Used Xtreme Boot Maker to make a bootable drive on C:
Xtreme bootmaker found my raid card
I selected the options for ms28 including bad flash and Boke's patch.
3. When I boot up and enter samread xxxxx yyyy (xxxx yyyy being my serial number) it goes into MTKflash and there are two options
1. Primary
2. Secondary
There is no hacked or my controller card displayed

I tried using both primary and secondary to read my original bin but no go...it just hangs there with a blinking underscore...

Anyone else come into the same type of problem with this card. I heard this is soppose to be the best card for flashing that is why I bought it.

How do I turn off raid on the card?
Anyone using the same card?

Follow this guide. I think you need to get the latest drivers for the VIA chipset from http://www.viaarena.com but I'm not sure if the SYBA cd drivers work or not.

And for your own sake, don't use Samread/Samhack

Flashed mine with samread samhack with no problems so not sure why your saying not to do it that way ? gregeet did you do the 10second bad flash ?

And another thing gregeet when it says 1. Primary
2. Secondary don?t think that is your sata card its your controllers on your motherboard IDE1 and IDE2 controllers just because Xtreme bootmaker sees your card in windows doesn?t mean its going to work I had the same problem had to buy new card try the 10 second bad flash method first

Got it thanks for all your help guys. My ms28 is now flashed. I formatted one of my old PC's used the NTFS4DOS disk the drive showed up as XTREME FINALLY!!!. After theat the 10 second trick worked flawlessly.

glad to hear, just make sure you burn a cd or something with your original firmware, you need that in case you want to flash again or in case MS gets pissy and starts banning people...
