moto krazr help please!!!!!

my friend bought a moto krazr from ebay 3 months ago and it was from china. now it worked fine up until yesterday when the screen just went white!

when you switch it on the logo appears for helomoto then it just goes white. i fear that something has went wrong with the software. is there any way of flashing a new software version onto it? maybe a uk one?

please help as it is a good phone when it works.
ps have triedtaking battery out etc nothing works
