has anyone ever tried khypermedia or BMI brand DVD-R? or anyone know if they are rebranded media from diffrent company? (i.e. apple dvd-r are the same as pioneer etc...)

KHypermedia is typically CMC Magnetics media. Not sure about the BMI discs.

Khypermedia is a terrible brand. I wasn't aware of this when I bought some and got lucky when my DVR-104 burned an entire 10 pack with no errors, but after the horror stories I've seen here about them I wouldn't push my luck again (especially since I don't have a Pioneer drive now).

KHypermedia disks from Tiger Direct have been flawless in my system burning with a NEC ND-1300A. The coasters that I have made have been software related problems, and no fault of the disks. I would buy the KHypermedia disks again if they would offer a 50 pack at a bit cheaper price.
