Bootable floppy with MTK Flash or Xtreme Boot maker?

Sorry if this has been asked before but I did search and found nothing.
I flashed my box a while back with xtreme 4.1 and am now gonna finally update it. the thing is when I flashed it I only used a bootable floppy with MTK flash & my xtreme bin . i have been reading up again now and have come across the xtreme boot maker which edits mtk flash and uses sam read and samhack ( or something like that)
my question is what is the benefit of doing it this was as there seems to be a bout 3 different stages of re booting your pc before its actually flashed?

Any input is welcome :-)

i used xtreme to flash my drive and i only needed to restart my computer after the original firmware was backed up and after the initial flash
