Is it recommended that I defrag my system after making VCD's? Because after I make the copies I delete the whole file.

Not if you have plenty of contiguous disk space. If you start to get a lot of fragments on your drives, then you can be kind to it by defragmenting it. I only do it periodically because it takes a loooong time.

Check it via Windows' defrag tool or Norton's Speed disk.
