Xbox Live For 360- Error MTU is too slow???

I'm trying to get on xbox live, its my first time. and its telling me the MTU failed. how do i change that? I use SpeedStream DSL and a model 4200 modem. My ISP provider told me its not able to change the MTU on this type of modem. So is there any other way I can change the MTU? maybe on the computer or something? PLEASE HELP!!

Since you have DSL more than likely your MTU is 1492. Set it to 1492 in the Xbox settings if you can. If not, download this little utility and tweak your connection.

You can maunally set it to 1492, but 1500 is default.

oh okay and when i press apply it adds an icon on my desktop, and when i click on it, it says choose a program to open with. What do i do with that?
