the one everyone loves is in fact that 111d. the first listing you have is the 111d, while the second one isnt. i absolutly love the 111d. it has never produced a bad burn for me yet. but if you do get it, make sure you update the burners FW to the newest one. pretty sure its still 1.29.

From what I've read the pioneer 112d will work too, so that second link is a good one as well right?

yes it will, any dual layer burner will, but for price, i would take the one back to circuit city and get the 111D, plus it looks pretty cool lol

im just wondering to make a cd dvd drive external usb can i take the external hd bay and connect it in there?
i can buy a external cd dvd rom bay rights?

u shuld update the firmware for the pioneer DVR-111D! latest one is 1.29 i think.

you cant put an external cd drive in an external hard drive bay, two different sizes.

Yeah, the blue led's are cool looking. Thanks everyone for your advice, I got an 111d on the way now.

so for the price there isnt a burner that can beat that one? my burner works fine, but it only burns at 2.4X max and i want to be able to burn at 4X to cut back on burning times, so im going to be looking for a new burner soon.
