Ok guys, I've been asking a TON of questions lately (just ask mikeismad) and I bought a DVD burner, but saw that everyone LOVES the pioneer ones.

My question is...are either of these auctions for the one everyone loves? I think it was the 111d right?

I need an external one since I'm doing it all on my laptop, and prefer external anyway. Just wondering if either of these will do the job.

I all ready bought this one...

From Circuit City for $75 but haven't opened it so I can take it back if ya'll think the pioneer one is better...Let me know. Thanks for the help everyone.

the one everyone loves is in fact that 111d. the first listing you have is the 111d, while the second one isnt. i absolutly love the 111d. it has never produced a bad burn for me yet. but if you do get it, make sure you update the burners FW to the newest one. pretty sure its still 1.29.

From what I've read the pioneer 112d will work too, so that second link is a good one as well right?

yes it will, any dual layer burner will, but for price, i would take the one back to circuit city and get the 111D, plus it looks pretty cool lol

you cant put an external cd drive in an external hard drive bay, two different sizes.

so for the price there isnt a burner that can beat that one? my burner works fine, but it only burns at 2.4X max and i want to be able to burn at 4X to cut back on burning times, so im going to be looking for a new burner soon.
