my pc cant detect my external harddisk

why is it so that after i have formatted my darddisk using Winhipp,
later after reboot my pc , my pc cant detect the harddisk.my question is : is my ext.harddisk kapoot
:can i undo to make it detectable

without actually being there, i'd say it might b a driver problem.

disconnect the hdd. re-install any drivers u got. re-connect and turn on (make sure it is ON) and se what happens then.

if it was an internal hdd in a usb casing (so u can use it on the usb port of the ps2) i'd say take it out and put it on the hdd bus inside the computer and have a look in the bios to see it it registers there.

i have not use winhiip so i cant give u any help there.
