Hey folks, I've noticed a number of posts here and elsewhere regarding problems with the MI chip and dvd9s with the recent releases of dual layered games. I'm wondering if this is really an issue with the MI chip or just a coincidence. I know DVD9 games tend to be more picky, but it seems like a more than expected number of people have issues with those games like not being read at all or not switching layers properly and are more than for any other chip. I'd like anyone who has a MI chip to post if their ps2 is working or not with DVD9 games to try to see if this is an issue. Please post information about firmware version, ps2 version, dvd-media, and burner id and maybe a brief description of what goes wrong. For example for me:

1.93 MI
v7 ps2
verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL
Samsung 182D
Won't read verbatims

If there is actually something wrong with the chip maybe it can be fixed in firmware.

when u insert the game as it appears it starts jumping continuously to the point that it cant b played but u hear the sound n c the game still.
