Hi, I have been through the forum before and seen that some people have had similar problems and I have waited to post my own until I was sure there was nothing else I could do. I have updated the firmware through a link found on this site (thanks for that by the way)and made sure that I am in DMA mode. However, the same error log still appears. Any help would be much appreciated!

You need to get a mod to move this to the Nero forum. You'll get more Nero fan's reading it that way. Plus as mentioned, include the entire log.

I'd suspect the problem may be the media. Manufacturer: DAXON0 - 16S I've never heard of the manufacturer before. Try a known good brand such as Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, or the Sony +R. It wouldn't be a bad idea to upgrade the software. You can check with Gwen or one of the others in the Nero section for a later stable version and links for a download. I know they exist, just haven't kept track of them. I used to use Nero 6 but went with Nero 7 when it became available.

Memorex is just a brand name. The manufacturer, DAXON0, is an unknown as far as I can tell. I noticed you didn't try changing media. I also noticed you may not have used the Nero Cleaner tool when you deleted Nero 6 to install 7. Try a media change first to see what happens. DAXON0 as I mentioned is relatively unknown and Memorex has developed a bad rep for using unknown manufacturers of poor quality media. It may not be the problem, but it would be the first I'd eliminate and it's probably the easiest. You'll be able to use the good media anyway, it adds to your stock. So, it's not a waste.

Illegal disc
The error you have can be caused by poor quality media.
I forgot, updating your drive's firmware may help.

Switched to the Sony +R, problem solved. Thanks for the help, I'm surprised the disc was the case, Imation and Memorex (the two that did not work) have worked before in the past. Anyway, thank you much for the help!!!!!!!

You're welcome. Memorex and Imation aren't always manufactured by the same manufacturer. You have to read the ID to be sure what you are using. I've seen this happen many times, so may have been more familiar with what was going on. Some name brands use some poor manufacuturers at times. Imation is another. Software like Nero will often ID the manufacturer. DVD Identifier is a simple tool that only IDs the media manufacturer. You can get the download for it with a google.
I'm curious, run DVD Identifier and tell us who made your Imation, if you don't mind. No need to go through a Nero log. I suspect it may be CMC. It's an idea to check your media for manufacturer when you buy it. If you're familiar with some brands, you can just about tell what you're getting by looking at the labels. The Sony +R I suggested is made by Taiyo Yuden if made in Japan and Sony if made in Taiwan. I've had excellent success with both and don't mind recommending them. Taiyo Yuden is a top manufacturer for different brands and also sells under their own name. I've heard some bad reports on Sony -R, so that's why I was specific about +R. Besides +R can booktype to DVD ROM for better compatibility and -R can't.

Your suspicions are correct. CMC Magnetics Corp is the manufacturer.

That's why I stopped using Imation. For a long time they were using Ricohjpn as their +R offering. Ricoh manufacture(d) media for Verbatim and other top brands. They used to be one of my favorites until they started getting harder to find. Imation put CMC in the mix just after Memorex started having so much trouble with them. I still don't understand how CMC survives with so many complaints. If I owned a brand, I'd be reluctant to put it on a CMC disc.
