Does anyone have the full manual from mod-chip.com or an equivalent one? This is my first install and I'd like some clear instructions. Thanks

Thanks for your help but I can't find my version PS2 anywhere anyway. I messaged Teammodders.com like you suggested in my previous thread. Hopefully they get back to me.

It may take a day or two as they are always busy between running the site and he is opening his own game shop. But i would also post in the PS2 harware section and ask just in case anyone else can help.
Teammodder and Davbere are the two guys i would look to for answers.
Davbere did all my PS2 work in the past.

All the PS2 versions have manuals at www.dms3.com.

What version PS2 manual are you looking for?

This isn't your board?

If not, post some pictures of your board. Chances are the wiring is very similiar and you just need to find the proper points.

With both those pictures, you can do some mapping from one to the other. You'll probably have to cross-reference other diagrams to figure out for sure the correct wiring diagram.

If you do wire things up as shown below and a wire is in the wrong spot, it shouldn't permamently damage anything. You'd just have to do some trial & error.

DUO.....DMS4
------------
PWR.....A
GND.....B
RST.....C
Z.......X(?)
S.......E(?), D(?)

R.......D(?), E(?)
V.......F
U.......G
T.......H
Q.......I

P.......J
O.......K
N.......M
M.......N

I.......W
A.......O(?)
B.......P

For X on the DMS4 diagram, you see how it connects to the very last pin on the big chip nearby? If you have one probe of your multimeter on that pin on your motherboard, probe around and find the spot on the DUO diagram that makes it beep. Then you'll know which is the correct mapping.

The same goes for the other pins that don't match up directly. It'll take a bit of work and maybe a spare pair of hands, but you should be able to track down all the proper points.

If you want it done right you can ask ask the people at http://www.norcalmods.com as well. spedmetal is the best there is. Also you can have a look at norcalmods install gallery to get a very good idea about installing your chip.

Have fun!
