i am converting avi to dvd using this program and it gets to 82% of the file and then it comes up with a writer error or pointer error! can u help solve this?

You will need to use TMPGEnc DVD Author !

i have TMPGEnc dvd author but it doesn't solve the fact that it has only converted 82% of the original AVI file to mpeg

You use TMPGEnc DVD Author to convert mpeg to vob

TMPGEnc is for the AVI to mpeg convertion

Herbs means use TMPGEnc to convert the AVI to a mpeg file, then use TMPGEnc DVD Author to convert it into a DVD or use Nero Vision Express 2 with the mpeg2dvd plugin. This is a good alternative.

no you see i know all this and I've been trying to do it but I can't use dvd author on the file because tmpg enc doesn't convert the whole file from AVI to mpeg. It comes up with a pointer error at around 80% complete. How can I fix that?

I did get it right. Just mentioned DVD Author first cos it sounded to me like he was trying to use TMPGEnc DVD Author to do it all ...
