OK i really like the guitar hero 2 soundtrack but i can't find the cover songs is there a way for me to rip the music straight from the game?

Nope, can't do it. The only time I've seen that happen was when someone made a prog for the PC that let you play the soundtracks from San Andreas PS2 version.

Just get yourself a sharing program and download the songs one by one.

If you're a member of a torrent site you should be able to download a cracked version of LimeWire which is an excellent sharing prog.
