Some of the newer Sony and Disney movies have "beefed" up encryption on them. Here are a couple of avenues:

(1) DVDFab Decrypter (free) http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

(2) RipIt4Me (also free and seems to work the best lately with newer encryptions) Find it here: http://www.ripit4me.org

(3) AnyDVD (not free, but also a good program). Here: http://www.slysoft.com

Also, here is a website to help get you started: http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/Guides.htm
A good website by bbmayo. Also, if you are interested in RipIt4Me, here is a good, step-by-step guide by PacMan from the same website: http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/TheGuides/pacman777guide.pdf

This should get you started. Any issues, write back and we'll try to help out more. Good Luck!

One more quick question about Sony DVD's, Is it possible to back up the whole Dvd, or can I only back up main movie? I use up-dated version of DvdFab 3.0.8.6 and then I use DVD Shrink. I noticed at times with newer movies I end up burning coasters going after the whole Dvd, but then no problem when doing main movie only. I would prefer backup having all the extras, but reading different posts it says main movie only but no reasoning behind as to why or if I can backup entire Dvd. Thanks in advance

You can backup the whole DVD, but understand that this will result in a lot more compression being needed thus not producing a very good quality DVD. Sometimes the disc has to be compressed so much that it will not even play. You can get away with doing the whole DVD to include extras with some movies and still have good quality backups. You will deffinatley need to use the quality settings in Shrink if doing the whole DVD. IMO the extras aren't really worth the degregation in the quality of your main movie so I will always advise against anything other than main movie for creating good quality backups. Of course you could go with Dual Layer discs and not have to worry about it at all or split your movies onto two SL Discs which would still be cheaper than 1 DL disc.
