Im having trouble tryna burn God of War II ISO file at 4x speed with the program call Alcohol 120%..When I burn it at 6x speed it skips!! The media I use is PHILIPS DVD-R 4.7gb 120min 1-16x speed
I want to lower the burning speed to 4x but everytime I try to burn a disc Alcohol will burn no lower than 6x speed. I even tried Nero Burning ROM but the burning speed always start at 6x why?

So i looked in the recoding options of Alcohol and I checked the box that said "turn off auto-select best write speed" and they give me more burning speeds to choose from and STILL none is lower than 6x..

can someone please tell me how to get Alcohol to burn at 4x speed.
my disc clearly sez "1-16x" speed so why wont it let me burn lower than 6x??

all help is greatly appreciated.

it may just be that your burner prefers to burn at 6x.

my burner will not burn at 1x and will burn at 2x most of the times, but sometimes it likes to go to 2.4x or 4x.

this is normal, it just means you have a fast burner that performs better at higher speeds. the days of: "the lower the speed, the better the quality", are gone. also, it may be because you are using media rated at 16x. media of high speeds will want to be written on at high speeds. don't worry it's ok.

i burn all my dvd related items with DVD Decrypter and [recently] imgburn. they are both simple and haven't failed me for movie, ps2, and gamecube backups yet. imgburn is the successor to DVD Decrypter, i may fully move on to imgburn if i find nothing wrong with it in the next few burns.

jgarces07:The shoulder buttons on my DS (not Lite) are not working. Any advice?
nintenut:This is going to sound a bit odd, but it works, put your lips around the trigger and blow really hard, it works.
bee_cup: My DS Lite L button don't work...
nintenut: Put your mouth on it and blow, gets the dust out, and sounds obscene!

I have to burn lower than 6x because when i try to burn God of War II for ps2 at 6x the movie scenes skip..i can't deal with that.
