I downloaded a movie and played it back in Media Player 9, it had sound but no picture. So I tried playing it in Divx Player, but it didn't work at all. I got the following error message.....

Video Data: FOURCC code "XVID"

So the question is, what is XVID (apart from being DIVX backwards). And what codecs do I need?

**EDIT** sorry, I just found out that I needed the XVID codec, which I have installed, and it works.

Another decoding filter you can try is the FFDShow filter.
